Solid Runway & Taxiway Deicing / Anti-Icing Product

High-performance granular sodium formate deicer for airport runways, taxiways, aprons and airside operational areas.

Our Granular Sodium Formate Runway Deicer is a solid formate-based deicing and anti-icing product developed for winter airport operations. The granular material can be applied using conventional mechanical spreaders and is suitable for both preventive anti-icing and curative deicing applications.

Designed around the requirements of SAE AMS 1431, the product is available in customized particle sizes, packaging formats and formulations according to airport, distributor and tender requirements.


Sodium formate is widely used as a solid runway and taxiway deicer because it combines effective ice-melting performance with a lower-corrosion alternative to traditional chloride-based deicers.

Preventive Anti-Icing

Applied before or during winter precipitation to help prevent the formation and bonding of ice to pavement.

Curative Deicing

Applied after snow and ice formation to assist in breaking the bond between frozen deposits and the pavement.

The actual application rate should be determined according to pavement temperature, weather conditions, snow/ice thickness and the manufacturer's application recommendations. Existing commercial sodium-formate runway products, for example, publish different application rates for preventive and curative treatment.
